Contact UsFor close to seven minutes around 11:56 local time, the moon slides across the sun and leaves a bright ring hanging over the Andes. We hand out certified eclipse glasses to every guest so everyone can look up safely.
A solar eclipse only lines up over any given place once in a very long while. After this one, the next annular eclipses fall over Ecuador, North Africa, India, and the South Atlantic, spread across years and continents. The chance to watch one from horseback in Los Alerces, with the Andes behind you, doesn't come around twice.
Fly into Esquel (EQS) or Bariloche (BRC); ask us and we'll point you to the connections we recommend from Buenos Aires. Once you reach the lodge, settle into your room and ease into the trip: a welcome drink, a briefing on how eclipse day will run, and a first dinner together.
The eclipse peaks at midday, so we shape the whole day around that moment. The morning stays flexible: a ride out into the park, an easy walk by the river, or a slow start at the lodge, whatever the group feels like. Then a country-style lunch out in the open and time to settle in and take in the ring of fire when it comes.
Full day riding through Los Alerces National Park. Scenery, rivers, lakes, remote trails. Return to lodge for dinner and evening to decompress and share eclipse stories.
Another full day in the saddle. Explore different terrain, spot wildlife, take in the Patagonian landscape. Evening at the lodge.
Checkout and head to Esquel or Bariloche for your flights. Safe travels.
